Amy Kruchowski Phillips, DVM
Chief of Staff & Owner
Dr. Phillips completed her undergraduate work at St. Olaf College with a double major in the Classics and Ancient History. Unfortunately fluency in Latin does not provide a lot of career opportunities, so she decided to peruse her second passion, a love of animals. She applied and was accepted to the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine.
While in college, Dr. Phillips worked at the Science Museum of Minnesota in Youth Science Education. She credits her time at the science museum for developing her skills in communication and education. Dr. Phillips found her forever home when she came to practice in White Bear Lake, and purchased Lake Animal Hospital from Dr. Brewer in August of 2008. At work, Dr. Phillips enjoys working with Client Education, Pocket Pets, Soft tissue surgery and Dentistry.
Dr. Phillips always had a love of animals. She grew up on a historic farmstead in Stillwater where she still resides today. They raise Baby Doll Sheep and Appaloosa Sport Horses. Dr. Phillips shares her home with many pets including an adoring Welsh Corgi named Lollie, a demanding orange tabby called Brosnan, and an ill-tempered African Bull Frog known fondly as Vicious.
Dr. Phillips and her husband, Jeremy, spend much of their free time maintaining and renovating their 150 year old home. In her spare time she also enjoys European travel, Dressage horseback riding sidesaddle, and music – including playing piano and oboe.
Shelly Langlie, DVM
Dr. Shelly Langlie earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from North Dakota State University. She initially worked in a variety of science research positions including agriculture, seismology, and biology. Dr. Langlie then continued her studies at the University of Minnesota earning her degree in Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Langlie has the distinguished honor of being the longest standing employee of Lake Animal Hospital. She has been a veterinarian here for over 20 years. She has particular interests in ophthalmology, dermatology, preventative health care, and senior pet medicine and is a favorite of our clients. Her relationships with clients last for years – through many generations of pets! She enjoys having every opportunity to help pets live long, happy, healthy lives.
Dr. Langlie grew up near the Canadian border, spending time with family and pets. Living in rural Minnesota instilled a love of the outdoors. Every chance she gets, she escapes city life and ventures north to spend a long weekends communing with nature and relaxing with family.
Dr. Langlie is married to Jeff. They have twin daughters Sara and Mia. The girls are very active in sports. Dr. Langlie spends much of her free time watching soccer, basketball and other high school sports. The family shares their home with a black standard poodle named Cinder.
Laura Pritzker, DVM
Dr. Pritzker graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and recently moved back from practicing in Chicago to join the staff at Lake Animal Hospital. Dr. Pritzker grew up in St. Paul, MN but has spent time living in New Orleans for part of her undergraduate degree. Her love of animals started at an early age when her parents got her started with horse riding lessons. Little did they know at that time that these lessons would not be a fad but a lasting hobby.
When Dr. Pritzker started vet school, she had every intention of becoming an equine vet, and even did work as an equine vet after graduation. It was during her 4th year of vet school and just after that she decided that horses were meant to stay a hobby and her heart was really with small animal medicine.
Dr. Pritzker's professional interests include dermatology, emergency and critical care medicine, and cardiology. In her spare time, she is an avid baker, cook, runner, and world traveler. Dr. Pritzker lives in Roseville as a slave to her very cute and spoiled dog Nola. She is working on starting to acquire more animals, which may include the clinic cat "Ritz" as he has adopted her, as she now has a house instead of a very small Chicago condo. Her horse Fred, who gives kisses on command, unfortunately does not live in Roseville, but is retired in Wisconsin where he eats constantly.
Ally Bosman, DVM
Dr. Bosman graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to completing her doctorate, Dr. Bosman had initially been interested in a career in research and had received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. After spending long hours in a laboratory, she came to the conclusion that she needed to pursue a fulfilling career where she would have more variety in her day.
While studying veterinary medicine, Dr. Bosman volunteered with the Animal Humane Society and worked at the Animal Emergency and Referral Center of Minnesota. Through her volunteer work, Dr. Bosman helped many animals find their furrever homes. Her time at the emergency clinic taught her how to meet client and patient needs, work efficiently, and communicate in a high stress environment; her compassion and understanding of the human animal bond are invaluable skills.
Dr. Bosman joined the Lake Animal Hospital team in 2014. She is passionate about exotic pets including rabbits, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, and the occasional bearded dragon. She also has interests in dermatology, dentistry, and surgery. Dr. Bosman is excited to have an opportunity to develop lasting relationships with pets and their non-furry families.
Dr. Bosman grew up in Hudson, WI. She married her high school sweetheart, Dan, and they currently reside in Stillwater where they are slowly developing their ‘zoo’. They were fortunate to adopt a rescue dog named Surly in 2015, and have two adorable rabbits named Shandy and Hops. In her time away from the clinic, Dr. Bosman enjoys travel, spending time outdoors, going to the movies, cooking, and spending time with her family.
